Now that I have convinced you let’s dissect the watch order slightly. The manga received an adaptation back in 1993 as “Oh! My Goddess.” This 5-part OVA had a spinoff in 1998.
In 2000, the series got a reboot as “Ah! My Goddess” and faithfully adapted the storyline till the end of the manga.

About Ah! My Goddess (Series)
Ah! My Goddess follows the life of Keiichi Morisato, a college student whose luck takes a dramatic turn when he accidentally dials the Goddess Relief Office and summons the beautiful goddess Belldandy.
In a whirlwind of events, Belldandy offers to grant Keiichi one wish, and he jokingly wishes for her to stay with him forever.
