Appleseed (1988)

After Calon Mautholos’s wife committed suicide, police officer Calon Mautholos has come to loathe Olympus, attributing her death to the lack of artistic freedom brought about by the laws governing the city’s residents.

Growing in hate for the city, Calon teams up with terrorist A.J. Sebastian to blow up the Central Management Bureau’s Legislature in an attempt to overthrow the Olympus rules that killed his wife. However, Calon turns renegade and attracts the attention of city officials when he learns that Sebastian is motivated by hate for bioroids rather than political discontent. The ESWAT counterterrorism unit’s Deunan Knute and her partner Briareos are sent to find and stop Calon and Sebastian by any means necessary!
