Every day, a man named Okina toils away at the hollow plants in a forest deep in the countryside as a bamboo cutter.
However, Kaguya’s life is drastically altered when Okina discovers a sizable fortune of gold and treasure in the forest. Perceiving this as yet another divine gift, he uses the money he has recently acquired to transform his daughter into a true princess and moves the family into a mansion in the capital. Kaguya gradually reveals her background and goals as she abandons her friends to embark on an unwanted life as a princess.
